Shah Rukh Khan has got more than a million followers on Twitter a little over a year-and-half after joining the micro-blogging site.
"Celebrating the million mark by watching Bambi with my daughter. Feeling the warmth...thanx all. Love u," Shah Rukh posted on his page today (July 11).
SRK, who joined Twitter in January 2010, got over 10,000 followers within the first 24 hours of joining the Bollywood brigade on the website.
But Shah Rukh is not the first Indian celebrity to achieve the million followers feat, as cricketer Sachin Tendulkar, author-politician Shashi Tharoor and actress Priyanka Chopra crossed it before him.
These days, the 45-year-old superstar is gearing up for the release of his superhero film 'RA.One', which will hit screens this Diwali.

He hasn't seen any of her movies!
Hrithik Roshan is impressed with Katrina Kaif's team spirit and feels her unselfish attitude has made her so successful in Bollywood. Meanwhile, Katrina, in turn, praises Duggu, describing him as a "phenomenal" actor. Seems like your regular T'town mutual admiration society, right? Except that Hrithik has never seen any of Kat's movies!
"I had not seen any of her films until I had started working with her in 'Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara'. It just happened that I had not been able to see her films," Hrithik revealed.
Hmm...we wonder if Hrithik doesn't generally watch that many movies or if he's just missed Katrina's. Whatever the case, it didn't come in the way of a great working relationship developing.
"I was absolutely delighted to work with her. She is a team player, she is not a selfish actor. I like to work with people who give themselves to work, towards the entirety of the same goal, that's what she is, that's how she is. That's what has got her so far. What I have seen of her and what people have seen of her on screen is not even 10 percent of what she is capable of," he added.
Hrithik was promoting 'Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara', which is releasing July 15, along with co-stars Abhay Deol, Farhan Akhtar, Katrina and Kalki Koechlin. They were also accompanied by director Zoya Akhtar.
Katrina couldn't stop raving about Hrithik either.
"Thank you for saying that you have not seen any of my films. (Was Katrina being sarcastic here?!) I didn't know that. I have seen his films and have always been a huge fans of his work, he's a phenomenal actor and I was really excited to have got a chance to work with him," she said.

Protests in Kolhapur over its 'vulgar and objectionable' content
Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) activists today (July 11) protested outside two cinema halls in Kolhapur exhibiting the latest Aamir Khan production 'Delhi Belly' due to its "vulgar and objectionable" content, police said.
The managements were forced to cancel the afternoon shows.
Over 50 angry NCP activists, led by local corporators Anil Pharat and Prakash Gaondi, created a disturbance at the Padma and Parvati cinema halls where the afternoon shows had started.
They shouted slogans, tore off the movie posters and banners and attempted to barge into the theatre premises, demanding cancellation of the show.
Their ire was also directed at the censor board, which they said had cleared objectionable dialogues, explicit erotic scenes and the song 'DK Bose'.
The protesters demanded deletion of the song, offensive dialogues and explicit scenes on grounds that they corrupted the mind of the youth, especially college students, who have been queuing up to watch the movie.
Police said that around 20 NCP activists were detained and additional security has been provided at the two cinema halls.
An officer from Kolhapur's Laxmipuri police station said that the NCP had told the two theatre managements and the police Sunday (July 10) that the party members will demonstrate if the shows were not cancelled.

Why did she say no to her close friend?
Kareena Kapoor and Karan Johar share a strong bond, with Bebo even having gone to the extent of saying that KJo is like her brother. Of course that doesn't mean that Kareena and Karan have never had their differences. We know how she refused Karan's 'Kal Ho Na Ho' because of money issues. The two patched up since then but now there's something else that's cropped up that might affect the relationship.
Apparently, Karan wanted Kareena for an item number in his 'Agneepath' remake that stars Hrithik Roshan and Priyanka Chopra in the lead. Kareena is believed to have refused.
The song is supposedly set in the HQ of the villain (played by Sanjay Dutt) and has been planned as a super sultry number.
So why did Kareena refuse Karan? Allegedly, she wasn't too comfortable being part of the same project as Priyanka Chopra (though PC has reportedly agreed to do an item number in the SRK-Bebo starrer 'Ra.One'). Priyanka's friendship with Shahid Kapoor, Kareena's ex, has never seemd to be out of the picture in the equation between the two. And one can never tell how Kareena and Priyanka will react around each other when they meet in public.
Kareena was also apparently not very keen on working with Hrithik. The two starred together in 'Yaadein', 'Kabhi Khushi Kabhi Gham' and 'Main Prem Ki Deewani Hoon' and were said to be quite close at one point. But the relationship changed after rumours of an affair between the two that reportedly upset Hrithik's wife Sussanne. Since then, the two seem to be avoiding each other.
So will the face-off between Kareena-Priyanka-Hrihik continue? Watch this space for updates!

We've got hot new deets on 'Munnabhai Chale America'
There's good news for fans of the Munnbhai movies - part three in the series 'Munnabhai Chaale America' which had been on hold for some time now - is back on track. Director Rajkumar Hirani has reportedly confirmed that he is working on the script for the movie right now.
While the initial promos for 'Munnabhai Chale America' were first shown some years ago, the project itself had been stalled because the team wanted to avoid a clash with the similarly themed 'My Name Is Khan'.
Rajkumar Hirani is working co-writer Abhijat Joshi (who also scripted '3 Idiots') and the plan is to start shooting early in 2012.
While Sanjay Dutt and Arshad Warsi will play Munnabhai and Circuit again, they will have new leading ladies.

Kalki Koechlin sets the record straight on her 'ZNMD' co-star
Kalki Koechlin has rubbished reports suggesting that she and her 'Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara' co-star Katrina Kaif don't get along, saying there are no problems between them.
"There have been a lot of people picking on us, saying that me and Kat are fighting. I think it is really sad because not one person has come and asked me what I think, they have just kind of assumed. There are no issues," Kalki said.
The actress was at PVR Cinemas in Ambience mall, Gurgaon, along with the star cast of the film Hrithik Roshan, Abhay Deol, Farhan Akhtar and Katrina Kaif. They were also accompanied by director Zoya Akhtar and Farhan's production partner Ritesh Sidhwani.
Kalki, who will once again be seen with Abhay after 'Dev D', says she doesn't want to be trapped in one image and hopes to do different kind of roles.
"It (Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara) is definitely different from the other film (Dev D) that we have done and I think Abhay doesn't tend to stick to one thing and neither do I," she said.
"I don't want to be labled or trapped, my job is to change and adapt to everything that comes. And it's exciting that I am doing something different."
The actress, who recently married filmmaker Anurag Kashyap, was last seen in 'Shaitan'.

Who's been claiming that the stars tied the knot in real life?
Producer Vipul Shah is shocked at the claims of Pandit Bhagwat Guruji, who said that he got John Abraham and Genelia D'Souza married off while shooting for a wedding sequence in their new film 'Force', and says the priest is just looking for his 15 minutes of fame.
"Countless number of weddings have been performed in Hindi cinema, but this is the first time that I have come across someone so keen to be in the limelight that he can go so far as to claim to have married Genelia D'Souza off," Vipul said.
"I don't hold anything against Pandit Bhagwat Guruji but will not let anyone point a finger at the leading lady of my film in this manner. He is only looking out for his 15 minutes of fame without any real standing. The whole incident is bizarrely shocking and there is no truth to it at all. Any such claims should be dismissed as a desperate attempt to gain attention," he added.
There were reports that Genelia and John were shooting for a wedding sequence for their upcoming film 'Force' wherein the mantras that were chanted were real and the duo religiously completed all the wedding rituals.
Bhagwat Guruji got so engrossed performing the rituals that he ended up pronouncing them husband and wife in real life.
Genelia's spokesperson also rubbished the claims, saying: "The bizarreness of the pundit's claims is astounding. It is extremely unfortunate that someone would try to take advantage of just being in the same scene as Genelia D'Souza in this manner. This truly is an eccentric attempt to grab headlines."

Buzz is she's part of a special romantic sequence
The Shah Rukh Khan-Priyanka CHhopra mutual admiration society is just getting stronger and stronger. Of course, the two star in the upcoming 'Don 2' and now we hear that Prinks might also be a part of SRK's home production and most ambitious project yet 'Ra.One'.
According to the grapevine, Priyanka has been approached for a special sequence in the movie - it's apparently a long romantic scene that, unusually, involves stunts as well. All keeping in with the action-packed ethos of 'Ra.One'.
Since Kareena Kapoor is the movie's leading lady, Priyanka's is a dream sequence. Rumour has it that an item number might be part of PC's role in the movie.
Now, it's no secret that Bebo and Priyanka don't exactly get along. If PC is definitely part of the project, despite this, it shows how close SRK is to her. And we guess he'll be counting on his friendship with Kareena to make sure she has no problems with it.

This is a desperately dark film that's not at all easy to watch
Starring: Emraan Hashmi, Prashant Narayanan, Jacqueline Fernandez, Sulagna Panigrahi
Directed by: Mohit Suri
The sequel to 'Murder' is nothing like the first part of the frenetic franchise. And Jacqueline Fernandez who has been built up in 'Murder 2' as the next Mallika Sherawat is nothing like the overrated Mallika….Thank God for that! Jacqueline exudes an unbridled sunniness even when pouting in the bare minimum. Alas, she doesn't have much to do in 'Murder 2' except swathe the dark drama in a spot of sunshine.
God knows this film about the devil-unleashed, surprisingly written by a woman (Shagufta Rafique) needs that little bit of sunshine. It is a desperately dark film. The characters are wretchedly unhappy. No matter which side of the moral line they are positioned they are standing screaming into the abyss that is suburban life. These people need serious help.
This then, is the world Mahesh Bhatt has bequeathed to us. Take it and bleed it.
Director Mohit Suri who earlier took us on a jolting trip through the world of prostitution and desperate cops in 'Kalyug' takes the same route again. On this occasion the journey is far more ruthless and rigorously implemented to create horror repugnance and hatred for a word that we've created for coming generations.
In the typical Mahesh Bhatt style 'Murder 2' doesn't waste time in back-projections and story build-up. He goes straight for the kill. With trenchant immediacy director Mohit Suri (back in 'Kalyug' form after the misfire that was his last film 'Crook') tells us the story of a psychopathic killer who kills prostitutes with the pleasure that makes your stomach churn and look anxiously towards the future about your daughter who is just stepping into the big wide world.
Who knows if the man sitting next to her in the movie theatre is a closet-nutcase with a collection of hacksaws in his house, and not to carve up the Christmas turkey.
Prashant Narayanan as the psychopath plays the character at such an even pitch he makes your blood freeze in fear and revulsion. Here's a man who could be that ghoul who butchered all those kids in the Nethra killings and then ate them up without a burp.
The 'hero' in 'Murder 2' is a burn-out suspended cop who makes money out of criminals, stays sullen and haunted throughout the film except when he goes for the kiss, and offers his girlfriend a wad of notes after they've been intimate. To buy the fridge, he says. Naturally the lady freezes.
Force of habit, we say. Emraan has done this kind of a role repeatedly. The kissing and vigorous bedroom activities are quickly taken care of in the first 15 minutes. Wouldn't want the lovers of the serial kisser to feel they're being cheated in favour of the serial killer.
The wacked-out killer in 'Murder 2' doesn't eat his victims. He just cuts them down to sighs…and groans and shrieks of pain and records their dying voices.
The plot seems original. The narration is clenched and the characters driven by a desperate urge to assert themselves before death rings their doorbell.
The savagery with which the college-going call girl (Sulagna Panigrahi) is brought to her gruesome death becomes a metaphor for the loss of innocence and the triumph of diabolism that is often garbed in designer labels these days.
'Murder 2' is not a pleasant film to view. The psychopath's killings are done in graphic detail. The storytelling offers no respite from the brutality. Most of the time we are looking at happenings that we would rather not see. But see, we must.
'Murder 2' is a mirror of our amoral venomous times when no relationship is sacred anymore. Mohit Suri remains in command of the murky material and traumatized characters. While most episodes hold together in a riveting rhythm of life's most unsavoury truths, the sequences featuring Prashant Naraynan work better than the rest of the film. He lends the proceedings a credibility that is unsettling.

Guess what he's said about being a part of 'Chillar Party'!
Salman Khan has been part of the biggest blockbusters Bollywood has ever seen - from the most recent 'Ready' and 'Dabangg' going all the way back to 'Hum Aapke Han Kaun' and 'Maine Pyaar Kiya'. So which of these movies does he feel most proud to be part of?
Well, it's not a movie showcasing him but one that focuses on a bunch of kids that's Salman's choice. Sallu's first movie as a producer, 'Chillar Party', which releases this weekend, is what gets the highest praise from him.
Salman posted on his Twitter page late yesterday, after the starry prermiere of the movie, "Saw Chillar Party with the chillarrrrr party. This is by far the best movie that I have ever been a part of."
But close as it is to Salman's heart, the star seems to be willing to accept all sorts of reactions to the movie.
"U see it n if u like it publicize it, no better publicity than mouth publicity. Ann if u nt (don't like it), rip it apart. U have the rite n no body else," he added.
Salman's family as well as his B'wood friends including Kangana Ranaut, Arshad Warsi, Amrita Rao and Aftab Shivdasani certainly seemed to enjoy the first day first show

Hrithik, Katrina, Farhan, Abhay and Kalki are off on a six-city adventure
Reel-life is imitating real-life for the 'Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara' team - they're off on a six-city road trip in a black Range Rover, with Delhi as their final destination.
The co-owner of Excel Entertainment, Ritesh Sidhwani, that produced the film came up with the idea with his marketing team, to keep the promotion in harmony with the basic story of the film, revealed director Zoya Akhtar.
"It was Ritesh's idea. The idea was to keep the promotion in synch with the story of the film," Zoya said Thursday at Mehboob Studio, from where they set off for the trip.
'Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara' is a film on road trip, which shows how lives of three men - Abhay Deol, Farhan Akhtar and Hrithik Roshan - change when they go for a holiday.
Katrina Kaif and Kalki Koechlin played the female leads in the film.
The team goes through five more cities - Surat, Baroda, Ahmadabad, Udaipur, Jaipur and Delhi.
"We are very charged up. It's very exciting. We would get to see very good places. It's a great company so I am very excited," said Farhan, who is the co-owner of Excel Entertainment.
Hrithik said: "For the first time I am going for such a long road trip in India. When we were shooting in Spain, then only we thought that we should do something like this in India. That's what happening now. It's exciting."
Actor Abhay Deol had made a almost similar road trip in India while doing director Dev Benegal's film 'Road, Movie'.
When asked how different it would be this time, he said, "In the 'Road Movie' I was driving a truck and here a Range Rover so it would be more luxurious trip I believe."

The celeb couple, who got married in January, can't imagine life without him
It's just been a few months into his wedding, but Samir Soni already has a new family member - an adopted stray dog he has named Casper.
Samir adopted the sick street pup sometime ago, and has nursed him back to health. He has decided to keep Casper in his house.
"I adopted Casper few months back when he was just a pup. Actually, one of my friends got him to me in a very piteous state. I was so touched when I saw the small little puppy. He was wounded and was unable to walk properly, I knew had to do something for him and spontaneously decided that I had to adopt him," said Samir, who was last seen in 'Bigg Boss 4'.
However, he feared the reaction of his wife, actress-turned-jewellery designer Neelam.
"I was unsure of how Neelam would react to a pet being at home, but today he has become an integral part of our family and we can't imagine life without him," said Samir, adding that it was Neelam who named the dog Casper.

"I was unsure of how Neelam would react to a pet being at home, but today he has become an integral part of our family and we can't imagine life without him," said Samir, adding that it was Neelam who named the dog Casper.

It's cleared the way for his second marriage to Nayanthara
A principal court in Chennai, India, has granted choreographer/actor/director Prabhu Deva and his wife Latha a divorce by mutual consent. Prabhu Deva and Latha got married in 1995 and have two children.
The two had been living separately for the past two years, after Prabhu Deva became involved with Southern actress Nayanthara. He even admitted that he intended to marry Nayathara.
There were bitter feuds between Prabhu Deva and Latha during this time. She filed a petition in a family court to get her relationship with him back on track. She even went on a hunger strike and filed a second petition to prevent Nayathara and Prabhu Deva from giving joint interviews.
Now things appear to have been resolved between the two. As per the divorce agreement with Latha, he has paid Rs 10 lakh to her as permanent alimony. The actor also transferred property in Anna Nagar along with two cars to her name.
He has also transferred land at Injambakkam village and his property at Alekhyas Kaushik Meadows in the names of his two children. Both children are under Latha's custody, but the court has granted Prabhu Deva access to them as he wishes. He also agreed to bear cost of their education, marriage and other expenses in future.
Both Latha and Prabhu Deva have agreed not to make any claims against each other in the future.

"I am responsible," the hunk admits on Simi Garewal's show
it was an open secret for the longest time and now John Abraham has finally confessed the real reason that he and long-time girlfriend Bipasha Basu broke up.
John appears on Simi Garewal's new show Simi Selects 'India's Most Desirable' in an episode that will air tomorrow (July 10) and in it he takes responsibility for the split. "I was not ready to commit when the relationship needed culmination,” he said admitting that he wasn’t ready to get married to Bipasha even after all those years of being together.
"It was a beautiful relationship but it doesn't exist anymore," he added. John also said that he had “grown out of the relationship”.
“I’m probably the reason that this relationship didn’t work,” he admitted to Simi.
John went on to say, "The silence lasted too long and I guess it was time (to break up). I’m solely responsible for the split — I did not want to get married.”
He also called the breakup an 'amicable' one, and said that they were never disloyal in the relationship. "We had decided, if we ever parted ways it, won’t be for another man or woman,” he said.
He went on to say that to be on his own was "painful" but "you have to move on."
The former couple first worked together in 'Jism' (2003), and later in 'Madhoshi' (2004) and 'Dhan Dhana Dhan Goal' (2007).

He tells us why the movie is very close to his heart
Shahid Kapoor says he is sentimentally attached to his actor father Pankaj Kapoor's directorial debut 'Mausam'.
Speaking at an event in Mumbai, Shahid said that apart from playing the lead role in the film, he has helped in every way to make the film as appealing possible.
"It's a film that's very close to my heart. It's a film, which we made as a family together. It's a film where I have given one and a half years of my life. Of course wherever I am required for the film I am there," Shahid told reporters at a promotional shoot of car music system company Pioneer, for which he has been the brand ambassador for the last three years.
Releasing September 16, 'Mausam' is a love story where Sonam Kapoor plays the lead opposite Shahid.
Two other films - Imran Khan's 'Meri Brother Ki Duhlan' and Ranbir Kapoor's 'Rockstar'-were initially scheduled to release September 9. However, 'Rockstar's release has been postponed to November 11.
Shahid is happy that all the three films are not releasing at the same time.
"All the three films were supposed to release at the same time and I am happy that it's not happening so because that's not good for the business," said Shahid.
"Imran's and Ranbir's film are coming and I am curious how their films are. Around the same time 'Mausam' is also coming and I hope people enjoy all the three films," he added.

"He's got his own unique and distinctive style of acting. It's not conventional at all. It does take you by surprise initially, but it's all about being flexible and trying to understand how another actor works," contactmusic.com quoted Freida as saying.
"I found a lot of things in his acting style that I could pick up and learn from," she added.

'Andaz Apna Apna' and 'Sarfarosh' have potential, the star admits
Aamir Khan claims that he is not against sequels but believes that films like 'Sarfarosh' and 'Andaz Apna Apna' that have absolutely independent story to tell should go for it.
"I don't have any objection to a sequel. If I have seen a story, the characters and I like them, then I would like to know what happened to the character later," Aamir said.
"If there is a possibility of an equally nice story, different from the first plot but using the same characters, I don't mind making a sequel. A sequel should have an independent story."
"Like in my film 'Sarfarosh', what is ACP Rathod (his character) solving next? Or film like 'Andaz Apna Apna' has huge potential for a sequel. I am just saying this but none of them has been worked out so far," he added.
He himself is gearing up for part three of the 'Dhoom' franchise, but every sequel should have an independent story, insists Aamir.
"This is one good sequel. Every 'Dhoom' has a different story. John comes, then Hrithik comes and now I have a different story," said Aamir.
After decades Aamir is also set to write a script again.
He is shaping the story jointly with his filmmaker wife Kiran Rao, cousin Mansoor and sister Nuzhat Khan.
"I have worked as a co-writer in 'Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak'(1988), 'Jo Jeeta Wohi Sikander' (1992), 'Hum Hain Rahi Pyar Ke' (1993). Once again I am writing a script with Kiran, Mansoor and Nuzhat. Four of us are writing together. It's an idea that came to me," said Aamir.
The 46-year-old maintains that if the script gets locked, Kiran would direct the film.
"Kiran would be directing it. It's quite a mainstream kind of film so it would be bit unusual for her also. Hopefully I would be acting in it too," he said.
"It's too early to decide. If the script gets locked in next five months, then I can say that we are making the film. That news I can give you in six months' time," said Aamir.

She's set for a sizzling turn in 'Tezz'
Everyone Aishwarya Rai Bachchan to Preity Zinta can boast of their own, private item number; now it seems Priyanka Chopra is joining the Sheilas and the Munnis of Bollywood.
The buzz is that Prinks might soon be seen in a rocking item number in 'Tezz'. We hear that 'Dabangg' music directors Sajid-Wajid are part of the project and Priyanka was the first and unanimous choice for the song.
Though she has been formally approached, PC hasn't officially said yes yet though she's believed to be interested in the concept. She had earlier said that she would probably not do an item number, but never say never, we guess!
