The Khan war


At the recent IIFA award weekend in Toronto, SRK decided to throw a party. And so did Salman’s brother Sohail. And since the entire industry was present in the city, both parties decided to have all tinsel townies on their guest list. Except Priyanka Chopra and Shah Rukh Khan.
The parties, interestingly enough were being held at two different suites in the same hotel. The glitterati kept flitting from one party to the other. The only people who stayed put at SRK’s bash were Priyanka and SRK himself.
Even King Khan’s close buddies Maheep Kapoor (Sanjay Kapoor’s wife) and Bhavna Pandey (Chunkey Pandey’s wife) were on the Sohail guest list. Worse, even SRK’s wife Gauri was invited by the other Khan. Maheep, Bhavna and even Hrithik Roshan were seen shuttling between the two suites. “Dono side ko khush rakhna tha. But more people turned out for Sohail’s party,” said a source.
Salman and Priyanka, one may recall, had a fallout after their 2004 hit Mujhse Shaadi Karogi. Priyanka even refused to work in Sohail Khan’s home production Main Aur Mrs Khanna. And though, Priyanka tried to wave the white flag at Salman, her feelings were never really reciprocated.
In fact, Priyanka had asked on Karan Johar’s chat show “Salman has something against me, but I don’t quite know what that is?” When asked whether the strained relationship with Salman affects her, Priyanka had told Karan, “I really don’t bother, because even though I have tried to clear the air a couple of times, he has never really come forward to do the same. Well, I have tried my best but after a point I felt that I don’t make that much of a difference in his life or else he would have clarified as to how I miffed him.After a point I am indifferent towards certain actors. One really can’t be bothered about others all the time.”
It was only in October 2010, when Priyanka attended one of the functions of Salman Khan’s Being Human Foundation, that the actor stopped being angry with her:
